Foregone Films delivered this impressive Marauders-set fan film that spotlights the early world of James, Lily, and their friends at Hogwarts. It shines a captivating light on the blooming romance of Lily Evans and James Potter and the complicated relationships between Remus Lupin, Peter Pettigrew, Sirius Black, and Severus Snape. Filmed by a crew of students on location at Oxford University and set on Valentine’s Day 1978, it’s perfectly true to the tone and spirit of the Harry Potter franchise in every way.

Set in their last year at Hogwarts, Mischief Managed is a story about the Marauders – how they helped (and sometimes hindered) James as he tried to score his first date with Lily. Meet James Potter, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, Peter Pettigrew, Lily Evans, Marlene McKinnon and Severus Snape in the last of their glory days at Hogwarts, as they learn that growing up sometimes means growing apart. Made in Oxford by university students and recent graduates, Mischief Managed is a fan film to be enjoyed by Potterheads everywhere! Forgone Films is a non-profit student filmmaker, and all cast and crew worked on a voluntary basis out of their love for the world of Harry Potter. Mischief Managed was independently funded and is in no way affiliated with Warner Bros or JK Rowling. Mischief Managed is inspired by and loosely based on fan-fiction ‘The Shoebox Project’, with full permission from the writers Jaida Jones and Danielle Bennett.

Mischief Managed is a student-made short film, shot on location at Oxford University. With the opportunity to use many of the same locations as the original films, our crew sought to recreate the beloved world of Hogwarts that generations of fans have come to know and love. With a crew of 24 and a main cast of 7, plus 25 extras, this 30-minute film was among the largest student productions in Oxford in recent years. Shot across 6 days but planned for 6 months, the film benefits from the knowledge, experience and high-standards of the Oxford film scene.
